7th Annual Ice Fishing Derby
February 20, 2010
Requirements:
All Participants must all register prior to the start of this event. The First # fishing holes will be made available for purchase at the amount of $ per individual on ? and then after all # fishing holes have been sold, the price will increase to $.

All participants MUST register before the start of the derby. You will get your receipt at this time along with your ballot for the participants draw.

Local Participants: register at the Radio Station Friday evening February 19, 2010.

Visiting Participants: register at the radio station Saturday Morning 7am – 10am February 20, 2010. If arriving late you may register at the derby site.

There is no age limit of participants.

All registrations are final. No refunds.
All NON Status participants ages 18yrs and up will be required in their possession at all times during this event a valid MNR Ontario fishing license. NON Status participants aged under 18 participating will not be required to have a fishing license but will be required to show their Birth Certificate or any other certified document showing date of birth.
Derby Rules
1. The Fishing Derby begins at 12:00 pm till 4:00 pm. The Selected Officials will weigh up the Pickerel entered for prize starting at 4:00pm at the site.
2. All Fishing holes are pre-drilled and randomly numbered. At the start of the event all participants will receive a number from the derby officials and must find their designated fish-hole at the site. The blow of a truck-horn will indicate the official start of the derby.
3. Only ONE fish-line per fish-hole. If you must leave the designated fishing area, you must pull out your line.
4. Only Pickerel taken from Sachigo Lake shall be eligible for prize. All participants must select one pickerel to enter into the contest. All containers or coolers will be inspected upon entry into derby site.
5. Participants must enter all fish whole, not gutted, gaffed, frozen or altered in any way. All fish entered will be examined by Derby officials. Any Fish found to be covered in snow or frozen will be DISQUALIFIED.
6. No fishing tents, huts or any type of shelter will be allowed at the designated fishing area during the event.
7. Snowmobiles or Trucks will also not be allowed at the designated fishing area. However, special privileges will be considered by the officials towards the handicapped and disabled persons and elderly.
8. No landing nets, personal weighing scales, sonar or fish finders will be allowed at the designated fishing area.
9. All minor participants12 yrs and under must be monitored at all times by an escort or a guardian at the designated fishing area. The derby officials will not be reliable if any harm comes to the child.
10. All Participants are all responsible for their own actions and safety during this event. The derby officials will not be reliable for any incidents that occur before, during and after the event.
11. The derby officials insist that you ‘Do not litter.’
12. No participant shall at any time assist other participants.
13. Alcohol and Drugs are prohibited, before and during the event. Any participant known to be under influence or intoxicated will be disqualified and will be escorted by police from the derby site immediately.
14. The use of tip-ups and fishing rod holders will not be permitted in this event.
15. The walleye rigs or stinger hooks will not be allowed in this event. Only jig heads and spoons will be permitted.
16. Live baits (worms, minnows) will not be allowed in this event. But all participants will be permitted to use frozen or salted minnows for bait.
17. All Participants are asked to do their utmost to exhibit good sportsmanship. The Derby officials will not tolerate any bad-tempered behaviour towards any event officials or towards any other participants during the event.
18. Any Participant found to be giving fish to another participant for prize will both be DISQUALIFIED.
19. Any participant found violating any of the RULES declared here will be DISQUALIFIED. *This rule will be strictly enforced!!
IN THE EVENT OF A TIE: The following steps will determine the winner.
After all it is said and done, the heaviest pickerel wins top prize.
